William advises employers, senior executives, interest groups, teams, boards, shareholders and investors nationally and internationally. He has particular experience in the executive, high net worth, marketing services, financial, recruitment, leisure and professional services sectors. He has an understanding of people businesses, unique people issues and an awareness that all business issues have a personal dimension.
He specialises in team moves, boardroom disputes, director liabilities, bonus and incentives issues, sensitive, high profile or newsworthy matters, discrimination, unfair prejudice and whistle blowing.
A member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Industrial Law Society, William writes and trains on employment issues. He is regularly recommended by the legal directories as ‘sensible and commercial’, “standing out for work for senior individuals” and “attracting clients at the highest level”.
William’s approach includes offering multi-disciplinary, rapport- based and empathetic solutions expressed in his client’s language and in the context of their overall needs. He focuses on values as much as value.
William joined Speechly Bircham in 2009 when it merged with Campbell Hooper Solicitors LLP where he founded the employment group in 1995, become partner in 1997, head of department in 2000 and board member in 2003. William trained at Campbell Hooper and qualified in 1992.
Interests include hiking with many long distance trails to his name.
