Experience:
Tim specialises in construction and engineering matters. He advises on project documentation. His experience also includes domestic and international arbitration and litigation relating to defects and time and cost overruns. Tim has also been involved in alternative forms of dispute resolution such as mediation and adjudication.
Tim is currently working on major construction and engineering projects, including office and mixed use developments with over 2 million square foot of space recently completed, under construction or about to commence. This has involved base build and fit out work, including two stage tender procurement (construction contracts and appointments) and agreements for lease involving turnkey arrangements in certain projects. In addition, Tim has advised on infrastructure, process, pharmaceutical and nuclear decommissioning projects. He continues to be involved in various contentious matters, having over the last year dealt with a number of disputes in different jurisdictions including adjudications and mediations.
Tim joined Speechly Bircham in 1987 and became a partner in 1989. Tim is a member of the Society for Construction Law and lectures to industry members on a frequent basis. He is also recognised as a legal expert by Legal Experts 2009 and Chambers 2009.
