Regeneration

Our highly regarded team of regeneration lawyers is drawn from the core legal disciplines of construction, real estate, planning and corporate. The team has developed a niche reputation for project work in areas of urban renewal, regeneration and mixed-use development.

The multi-disciplinary Regeneration team is equipped with the skills to address every stage of a regeneration project from the initial development appraisal to final disposal. This includes functions such as the acquisition of land or opportunity, structuring joint ventures and other strategic alliances, (including the consideration of the taxation implications) funding, the master planning and planning processes and the procurement of construction and consultancy engagements.

Our regeneration clients come from both the public and private sectors and include landowner’s, developers, housebuilders, public authorities, housing associations, investors and banks.

We have an established track record in an ability to understand a development scheme as well as the client’s business and objectives. This enables us to anticipate requirements and sensitivities, whilst advancing the project stages in a timely and efficient manner.

The proposed redevelopment of this substantial marina will provide over 1,300 apartments, a new supermarket, leisure units, restaurants and a large retail mall, as well as extensive public realm improvements. Instructed by the developer this scheme involves a complex leasehold structure, planning and construction management regime advice.

Acting for the developer, Bouygues Development, we are advising on this town centre scheme which will comprise an estimated 1,100 new mixed-tenure homes and approximately 60,000 sq m of retail, offices, leisure facilities and a supermarket. The redevelopment, on a 16 acre brownfield site, will provide up to 500 jobs throughout the 10 year construction phase.

Advising the developer on a £60 million scheme comprising over 700 student bedrooms and ancillary uses to be constructed on the site of the former BBC Costume Store in Acton, London. Advice relates to both the student Nominations Agreement with The University of the Arts, London and the associated front-end investment sale to the student accommodation operator.
