Experience
Administration of Michelin-starred chef, Tom Aikens’, restaurant business
Advising on the administration of Tom Aikens’ restaurant business and the subsequent sale to Oak Investments.
Liquidators to fashion business Morgan–UK
Advising on the structured closure of the concession business and providing property advice on disclaimers and assignments of the company’s leasehold interests, as well as managing the orderly wind down of the stock held by the company.
Administration of furniture retailer MFI Group Limited
Retained by the joint administrators of MFI to advise on the attempted sale of the business and assets of the company following its failed management buy-out. Advising on disposal of stock, intellectual property and dealing with the large volume of creditors and credit card companies.
Sale of the General Trading Company
Retained by the joint administrators who were able to trade the world famous retailer of fancy goods and its associated three Royal Warrants. We acted on the successful sale of the business and assets to Mortimers Limited, which preserved the business as a going concern.
Borders Bookstores
Acting for the joint administrators advising on the trading period issues, including employees, property, security, retention of title and asset disposal.
Global Resource Facilities Ltd – in liquidation
Advising the liquidator of staff resourcing company following his forensic investigation of the company’s failure and acting on the issue of proceedings for claims for misfeasance and wrongful trading against multiple respondents in contravention of the provisions of the Insolvency Act 1986. Successfully obtaining judgement in excess of £1.2m and enforcing the same.
