Specialist team:
IP, Technology & Commercial
Experience:
Paul Harris has over 25 years’ experience of advising clients on their contentious and non-contentious IP matters, ensuring that they both defend and extract maximum value from their IP assets.
The contentious practice includes litigating on behalf of clients, particularly in relation to patents where he enjoys a particular specialism within the medical and chemical sectors, and advising in relation to confidential information and trade secrets. He is renowned for his work on trademark disputes and has litigated on some of the UK’s landmark cases.
Paul also advises clients on a wide range of non-contentious issues including international and domestic licensing patents, trademarks and IP matters.
Clients range from major US multi-nationals, well-known brand owners, through to individual inventors and entrepreneurs.
With an academic background in chemistry and a deep pool of case-based knowledge Paul is an acknowledged industry doyenne and lectures on both the Oxford and formerly Bristol University IP diploma courses in relation to trademarks.
