Commitment to the community

We aim to work closely with our local and wider community.  We support our community through a variety of methods financially either from staff or from the firm itself, via our fundraising efforts and/or most importantly from individuals volunteering their time.  We therefore assist a large number of people, with the added benefit of developing our staff at the same time.

Charitable giving and volunteering

At Speechly Bircham, our people are actively involved in giving their time to support a wide range of community initiatives and charitable causes, from fundraising activities to volunteering in their spare time. As people are interested in many different areas of volunteering and fundraising activities and have such a wide range of skills to offer, we are looking to expand the opportunities to get more people involved and therefore have a greater impact.

There are many individual charities which employees feel personally passionate about and we encourage everyone to continue their valuable support, but the firm would like to focus their efforts on two main charities for the year.

Our community projects

The three community projects we run are:

  • The i in online project predominately supports children aged 14-19 and their parents and teachers with protecting their personal information online and also highlights the dangers of various internet and social networking sites
  • Life Matters project provides legal presentations to the Blackfriars elderly group by our trainees
  • Reading scheme in primary schools.
