Experience:
Nick specialises in corporate and corporate finance work particularly in the financial services and insurance sectors. He advises a number of institutional clients and international groups listed in the UK and internationally M&A, corporate governance and company secretarial matters.
Major projects have included: advising Scottish Life on its demutualisation; and leading the team advising the Government of Brunei on the drafting of its offshore financial centre legislation.
Nick was a member of the DTI’s Consultative Committee on Company Law Review from 1998-2001. He is currently a member of the City of London Law Society’s Company Law committee and is on the Corporate Governance Committee of the Share Plan Lawyers. In these capacities he meets with representatives of the UKLA, Takeover Panel, BERR and EU Commission to discuss changes in law and regulation applicable to listed companies.
Nick was a member of the firm’s management committee and joint head of corporate 2001 – 2007. Nick is recognised as a legal expert by Legal Experts 2008 and Legal 500 2008.
He is a member of the Securities and Investment Institute.
