Experience:
Kate acts for property developers and investors on all kinds of property assets. Much of her practice involves advising property developers on the acquisition and development of residential led schemes, from the creation of new communities on greenfield sites to complicated town centre regeneration. Unusually, she has extensive experience in dealing with both residential and commercial developments and can advise on all aspects of mixed-use schemes. She also acts on investment acquisitions and disposals, both stand alone and within portfolios. Recently, she has advised on various potentially contentious matters and on restructuring existing deals.
Recently, Kate has been:
- acting for the developer on the acquisition and development of a 287 acre site in Bicester, Oxfordshire, for a proposed new £423m community development including 1,585 houses, commercial and social uses
- dealing with all property matters on Countryside Properties’ leading regeneration scheme in Salford
- acting for Countryside Properties on the acquisition, development and disposal of a 90 acre site for a new community in Priors Green, Essex which will include 731 new homes and community facilities
Kate joined Speechly Bircham in 2009 when it merged with Campbell Hooper Solicitors LLP with whom she had been a partner since 2004. Prior to this, Kate worked at Gouldens and in the London office of a US law firm.
