Experience:
James is a corporate lawyer with particular expertise in the IT and venture capital markets. He has significant experience in advising on venture capital investments and, as a former IT professional, regularly advises on IT and general M&A transactions.
His recent work includes:
- acting for a leading European venture debt provider on the raising of a total fund of €155,000,000
- advising a leading European venture debt provider on investment activity in relation to its venture leasing and venture debt fund amounting to 80+ separate investments
- acting for NYSE Technology Solutions Limited on its investment in Coexis Limited, the owner of software for capital markets
- acting for the shareholders of Room Solutions Limited, a software company, on the disposal of the shares in the company to NIIT Technologies Limited.
James joined Speechly Bircham in 2009 when it merged with Campbell Hooper Solicitors LLP with whom he had been a partner since 2006. Prior to joining Campbell Hooper in 2002, he worked at Allen & Overy and ASB Law.
Interests include keeping fit, foreign films, time spent with friends and family.
