Experience
Henrietta qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and is the Head of the firm's Contentious Trusts and Estates team, based in the private client department. She advises trustees, executors and beneficiaries in relation to a broad range of disputes arising out of trust and probate related matters. Much of Henrietta’s work is international in character.
Henrietta's expertise in this field covers both contentious matters (eg breach of trust claims, attacks on the validity of a will, allegations of sham, applications to remove executors/trustees and Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims and non-contentious matters (eg consensual applications to the court for the variation of trusts or for the construction of trust instruments.)
Significant recent experience includes:

acting for the applicant in three separate, significant, tax appeal cases to the Special Commissioners

acting for the discretionary object of four Isle of Man trusts in connection with her claim to, inter alia, remove the trustee of the trusts. This complex and hard fought litigation lasted for almost two years and settled on very favourable terms for the client at the end of 2006. The trustee agreed to retire and a new trustee is now administering the trusts

acting for the successful defendant in the high profile al-Bassam litigation relating to the estate of a Saudi national. The case involved challenges to the validity of a 15 year marriage and a will disposing of worldwide assets

acting for the Court appointed administrator in the high profile Sherrington litigation relating to the complicated estate of Richard Sherrington (deceased)

acting for a Thai domiciled individual in connection with her claim against her deceased husband's multi million pound estate.
Henrietta is a member of ACTAPS and the Association of Pensions Lawyers. She regularly speaks at conferences on topics relating to these areas and has also completed the training to become a Solicitor Advocate.

Henrietta was recently named as one of the country's top 50 private client lawyers in Spears Wealth Management Survey.
