Experience
Gaynor specialises in trusts and estates and has a great deal of knowledge and experience ranging from advising and implementing capital tax planning through wills and settlements to administering and winding up estates and trusts. Gaynor advises both individuals and not-for-profit organisations.
Her recent work includes advising:
- a god daughter bringing a claim against an estate for financial provision to be made for her
- a family wishing to vary the terms of the deceased’s estate
- a charity on the recovery of misappropriated trust assets
- the executor of a landed estate in negotiations with the Capital Taxes Office concerning the availability of agricultural property relief for inheritance tax
- various trustees on the changes brought about by the Finance Act 2006 to the taxation of trusts.
Gaynor joined Speechly Bircham in 2009 when it merged with Campbell Hooper Solicitors LLP with whom she had been a partner and head of the estate planning team since 2004, having joined in 1990.
Interests include cycling, climbing and walking.
