Experience
Duncan is a construction specialist who acts across a range of contentious and non-contentious matters. He is regularly recommended for his expertise in construction law in annual legal publications. He is a leader in the regeneration and development sectors.
He is currently working on some of the largest and most complex schemes in the country.
His recent work includes:
- acting for Greenwich Millennium Village Limited (a Countryside/Taylor Woodrow joint Venture) on the flagship regeneration project on the Greenwich Peninsular
- acting for Countryside Properties on its award-winning development at Chatham Maritime
- acting for a major developer on regeneration sites in Charlton and Southwold, Clapton
- acting for a Registered Social Landlord in the regeneration of a north London housing estate
- leading the team acting on Countryside Properties’ major regeneration scheme in Lower Broughton, Salford.
Duncan is also an advocate of alternative dispute resolution having been involved in several mediations and adjudications as well as having considerable expertise in arbitration and litigation.
Duncan joined Speechly Bircham in 2009 when it merged with Campbell Hooper Solicitors LLP with whom he had been a partner since 1984. Duncan trained and qualified at Campbell Hooper.
Interests include sailing and skiing. Duncan heads a team at the annual Lambert Smith Hampton Ski Challenge.
