The Banking & Finance group represents banks, lending institutions, finance and investment management boutiques, asset-based lenders, borrowers and issuers in the areas of bond issuances, structured finance and derivatives, debt facilities and asset-based financing.

The group's particular expertise lies in complex UK and cross-border transactions requiring a specialist, partner-led approach.

Our structured finance and derivatives work involves the establishment of, and ongoing advisory roles for, structured funds, collateralised debt obligation vehicles (cash and synthethic), hedge funds, limited partnerships and other investment vehicles, both public and private. The group has developed a particular expertise in advising in connection with the establishment and implementation of debt financing structures in Middle Eastern offset industry.

The group is appointed to legal panels of two of the UK clearing bank groups and acts for a wide range of financial institutions, specialist finance houses and corporates in bilateral and syndicated loans, real estate and infrastructure financing, leveraged asset-based lending and mezzanine and subordinated lending. We have particular expertise in structuring/restructuring real estate backed debt and work closely with our Real Estate & Construction colleagues on these transactions.

The expertise of our Tax team plays a key role in the structuring of transactions to meet our clients’ objectives. We are also supported by our Commercial Dispute Resolution group in resolving banking and finance-related disputes and litigation cases.
