As part of our CSR programme we hold a number of events across all sections; around our environment, for our people and with our community, working with our clients as much as possible.
These events are in addition to the activities undertaken by our pro bono and community projects on a weekly basis.
Midtown Business Club CSR launch event

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) means business. Many clients look upon CSR as a ‘must have’, but without an effective policy, business opportunities can disappear. What is CSR and how do you get started?
Speechly Bircham is leading the Midtown Business Club’s new CSR Sub-Group.This launch event will provide those with an existing CSR policy the opportunity to share their experiences and for those who don’t, a chance to get a deeper understanding of CSR and how to develop a meaningful policy to implement across their organisation.

Life Matter's Quiz Night
14 October 2010
Due to the success of last year's Life Matter's quiz night we are going to repeat this event for 2010. This event aims to recruit our new trainees to the firm onto the Life Matters project, which has been set up by trainees, specially for our trainees to engage with their local community and develop their soft skills set. We will be inviting members from the Blackfriars elderly group, first and second year trainees and their supervisor to join us for a fun night of activities and entertainment.
Poppy Appeal Collection 2010
9 & 11 November 2010
Speechly Bircham volunteers will once again be maning the tube stations across London to help with the Poppy Appeal and sell poppies on behalf of The Royal British Legion.
Last year 15 City law firms became part of the Royal British Legion’s army of volunteers collecting over £30,000 to help support the Afghan generation of the Armed Forces family.
Welcome to CSR

This internal event for all staff aims to introduce the firm's CSR programme and its activities. We aim to update all staff on the activities in which they can get involved, demonstrate the CSR team's achievements over the past year and we also hope to gain feedback from our staff so we can continue to improve the programme throughout 2011.
The event will be both upbeat and informal, with interactive stalls displaying their projects and short, sharp presentations about our charities and our community projects.
Christmas Present Appeal 2010

Due to the success of the Christmas Present Appeal from last two years, we would like to run this event again. This year we would like to collect for two London based children's hospitals; Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Evelina Children's Hospital.
