Speechly Bircham advises UBC on its acquisition of Cognitive Drug Research Limited

City law firm, Speechly Bircham, has advised client United BioSource Corporation (UBC) on its acquisition of Cognitive Drug Research Limited (CDR). 

UBC is a global pharmaceutical services organisation that helps life science companies gather and analyse evidence to develop and commercialise their medical products.  UBC is headquartered in Maryland, USA with offices located in the United States, Canada, Europe, Latin America, and Japan.  One particular area that it specialises in is the development and delivery of productivity software to improve the efficiency and integrity of clinical trials and studies.

CDR is a leader in computerised cognitive testing for clinical trials and its CDR System is the most widely used computerised cognitive testing system in the world. The acquisition provides UBC with a fully integrated solution to reliably assess cognitive function.

John Mariano, SVP and General Counsel at UBC led the deal internally at UBC. Corporate finance partner, Graeme Guthrie, assisted by corporate finance solicitors, Arthur Shih and Chris Blackman, led the twelve member Speechly Bircham team in advising UBC.
