Our Mixed-Used Development team provides a full range of services to housebuilders. The team brings together property, construction, planning, environmental and tax lawyers to ensure clients receive a seamless service.
Our involvements cover a range from the largest housing schemes involving delivery by of public/private partnership structures to discrete housing developments. We are also engaged on a number of strategic land projects involving to securing of opportunities on land being brought forward for allocation within the planning process and including joint venture and consortium considerations.
We work for many of the UK’s largest housebuilders as well as a range of smaller specialist operators.
We work with clients to find solutions to achieve their goals, from appraisal, through structuring deals, planning, construction and development management to affordable housing disposals and market plot sales.
Experience
Land assembly and Consortium Agreement in Sussex
Advising a consortium of housebuilders in relation to the amalgamation of their landowning and option arrangements in anticipation of allocation of land for residential and mixed-use development involving the joint venturing of infrastructure requirements and equalisation of benefits and obligations.
Kent Residential
Instructed by the housebuilder developer on the purchase and subsequent disposal to an RSL of a site for circa 180 units in Kent, a complex purchase arrangement further complicated by potential village green issues and planning advice relating to emergency access.
Ore Valley Millennium Community, Hastings
Advising the preferred developer in relation to a phased development sponsored by a local development company supported by the Homes and Communities Agency.
Brighton Marina
Instructed by the developer on the proposed redevelopment of a substantial marina development providing over 1,300 apartments, a new supermarket, leisure units, restaurants and a large retail mall as well as extensive public realm improvements and involving a complex leasehold structure, planning, construction management regime advice.
London Wide Initiative
Acting for the developer in relation to the London Wide Initiative, a large, cross London, regeneration scheme promoted by the HCA with a consortium of housing associations. Its aim is to bring forward affordable housing across the Capital. The first phase related to a 150 unit scheme in Croydon. Further phases are being brought forward.
Myatt's Field, Lambeth
Instructed by the Contractor on the bid submission for this PFI scheme between the London Borough of Lambeth and Regenter for the regeneration of housing stock. The Contractor, will be carrying out the development of the new housing to be constructed as part of the development.
Priors Green, Essex
Advising the housebuilder on a 90 –acre site which will have 731 new homes as new neighbourhood centre providing retail and community facilities and a community hall. A site for a new primary school is also proposed, along with 10 acres of public open space, including sport and recreational facilities. Most of the site was acquired from Essex County Council.
