City law firm Speechly Bircham LLP has advised new client GO3 Limited which has joined forces with one of the world’s best known sportsman, David Beckham, on today’s launch of a range of classic favourite foods and three nutritious food supplements. GO3 is owned by the family interests of a Norwegian investor and works closely with Findus Limited.
GO3 is a balanced range of healthier meals, individually developed to give extra nutritional boost with some of the dishes containing key ingredients such as Omega-3, wholewheat and hidden vegetables. The range has been created to help busy families eat a healthier and more balanced diet.
Tesco has won the initial exclusivity to sell 12 lines of the Beckham range nationwide. Initial production is underway and one million meals are currently being stocked in Tesco stores across the country.
The Speechly Bircham team was led by client partner, Ian Timlin, who oversaw the legals for GO3 and advised on licensing arrangements with David Beckham. Alex Carter-Silk (Intellectual Property, Technology and Commercial partner) led on trademark advice and registration and Andrew Clarke (Corporate partner) led on the commercial documents.
Ian Timlin comments: “It was great to work on this product launch from inception with many of my colleagues. This covered registration of new trademarks, advising on supply and manufacturing agreements, negotiating licensing agreements to use David Beckham’s image, signature and likeness as well as putting in place the necessary corporate structure.”
