Corporate social responsibility

What is Corporate social responsibility?

Broadly speaking Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a concept whereby businesses consider the interests of society by taking responsibility for the impact of their activities on customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders, local and wider community and the environment.

Our commitment is:

"To provide our professional services with responsibility to our clients, our people, our community and our environment."

We aim to have a positive impact through our four main areas of focus; our clients, people, community and environment. We believe we have a responsibility to the people and environment around us, which is important to us and to achieve this we have a CSR programme.  To ensure we operate our business responsibly, each member of the firm must understand, learn and apply our policies and procedures to everyday practices.

How our CSR programme is managed

Speechly Bircham’s CSR programme is maintained and developed with the help of an enthusiastic and committed CSR committee, consisting of individuals from all areas of the firm.  The CSR committee is in place to ensure we have a sound system of internal control, manage CSR policies, procedures and projects, regularly review and report on performance, and provide guidance to management.  Robert Bond heads up our CSR programme and is assisted by Shelley Rowley our dedicated CSR co-ordinator.
