Anita heads up the Mental Capacity team, which under the authority of the Court of Protection appointed Deputy, manages and oversees the property and financial affairs of individuals who have lost the capacity to make decisions for themselves. Anita and the team provide a broad service, including working with carers and case managers, managing investments, budgeting and attending to tax returns as well as more complex issues relating to property.
Anita can guide and support you or your loved ones through situations where capacity may come into question and where no effective provision has been made for such an eventuality. Equally, she can give advice to ensure that the appropriate steps are taken to appoint someone to manage your finances should you lose capacity.
As well as this, Anita has experience in the residential property market working with private indivduals and offshore companies/trusts purchasing, selling or mortgaging freehold or leasehold properties.
Anita joined Speechly Bircham in 2009 when it merged with Campbell Hooper Solicitors LLP with whom she had been a partner since 1994.
