City law firm Speechly Bircham LLP is delighted to announce the promotion of four solicitors to the partnership with effect from 1 May 2009, increasing the number of partners to 73.
Emma Bartlett (Employment): Emma advises on all aspects of employment law and is a specialist in contentious discrimination matters with significant experience in handling high value contentious claims for employers and senior individuals. She will head up the group’s diversity and discrimination practice. Emma joined the firm in 2001 from Wallace LLP.
Tracy Evlogidis (Employment - Immigration): Highly ranked in the legal directories, Tracy is a leading individual in business immigration and advises companies and individuals alike on the full range of UK immigration issues (excluding asylum). Tracy joined the firm in 2008 as Head of Immigration from Harbottle & Lewis LLP.
Richard Hogwood (Private Client - Family): Richard’s area of expertise focuses on negotiating the financial aspects of divorce and separation and on preparing pre-nuptial agreements. Frequently this includes issues relating to taxation, trusts and wills. In particular, Richard has a reputation in the field of civil partnerships. Richard joined Speechly Bircham in 2002 from Slaughter and May.
Sanjvee Shah (Private Client - International tax and trusts): Sanjvee has a reputation for advising high net worth foreign domiciled individuals and families on international tax and estate planning matters and the creation of onshore and offshore trusts and ownership structures for special assets. She also advises professional trustees, family offices and individuals on a wide variety of trust and administration matters. Sanjvee is particularly experienced in dealing with India related matters. Sanjvee joined the firm in 2006 from Allen & Overy LLP.
These appointments follow the recent lateral hires of Nathalie Moreno and Vinod Bange to the firm’s IP, Technology & Commercial practice, Employment partner Robert Thomas from Eversheds’ Cardiff office and the internal promotion of Simon Ridpath to the Insolvency and Corporate Recovery team.
